Annual Giving: Grow & Flourish

This school year offers countless opportunities to support the growth of our students, our dedicated teachers, our community, and our beautiful new campus. We are excited to launch this year’s 2025-2026 Annual Giving Campaign. We invite our dear parents, grandparents, staff, board and all friends of BRWS to directly support the initiatives that grow and nurture our school. This year’s campaign has a fundraising target of $160,000, which will renovate our outdoor play yard & grow our General Fund.

Growing our General Fund

Our General Fund provides BRWS with funds to support new and existing resources for both students and teachers. These funds create opportunities for expanded programming in and out of the classroom, contribute to general operations throughout the school year, and allow for expanded curriculum or enrichment opportunities for students and teachers.

This year’s General Fund will support: 

  • Woodworking program expansion through purchasing of more tools and design of facility space

  • Growing & deepening the Waldorf training for our teachers & assistants

  • Supporting families in our Tuition Adjustment program 

  • Funding for Social Emotional Learning programs for our students

  • Additional equipment and resources for our teachers

  • Growing our Speakers Series for our community

Play Yard Renovation

Tucked into an urban environment, the BRWS campus is an inspiring space for our children to learn and grow.  Now that our community has settled into its new space, and having completed a successful fundraising campaign to purchase our new home, we are turning our attention to the future. 

We are embarking on an exciting project to renovate our school grounds. The goal of this project is to inspire our children’s imaginations and open up a world of possibilities for group games and imaginative play for all of our children in a curated landscape of plants and structures.

In collaboration with our teachers, we have defined the following areas of focus to design and build:

  • Enhance the K-2 play yard

  • Renovate the grades activity court area

  • Enhance the nursery entrance

  • Rebuild the interior and exterior property fences and create a welcoming main entrance gate

  • Purchase new play equipment

  • Build natural play areas

The mission of this project is to offer a carefully considered outdoor education which dovetails with the overall pedagogical goals of Berkeley Rose Waldorf School.  This will be achieved through strategic design focusing on multiple topics: engaged learning, fun, safety, equitable play space, beauty, and sustainability.
